About

Hello,
Thanks for stopping by this blog. Since the subject is one only those afflicted or those worried about someone who is afflicted with the dreaded nail biting habit, it’s safe to assume you have some interest in learning how to quit nail biting. Anyone who would tell you it’s easy or can be done in a few days or minutes either doesn’t know what they are talking about, or is putting out misinformation. You instinctively know nail biting is a very hard habit to break.

I wrote the book because I was encouraged by others to do so. They saw I had finally quit nail biting and wondered how after decades of being cursed by the habit, I was able to break free from it. My story is I just decided only I could get this done and that just having desire was only part of the equation. I equally needed to have motivation, recognition and long term planning to make the change. I also realized I needed an easy systematic way to maintain my nails.

All this did not come to me in one quick strategy session. I kept track of what worked and what didn’t. I studied the methods others used to quit and incorporated the good parts that worked for me into my plan. The biggest thing I found with other so-called cures is that they all focused on the initial stage of quitting. Granted, you have to be able to stop to begin your journey to total abstinence. But, if you want to actually transform yourself, you have to be able to deal with the frustrations and the temptations that come days and weeks later after you thought you had stopped.

My solution for learning how to quit biting your nails takes committment. Just like with anything else you want to accomplish in your life, it is going to take repeated devotion to staying with the task and time. But the end result is your nails grow, you know how to groom them and you have at your fingertips (pardon the pun) some learned behavior that will help you avoid the temptation now and later when some unexpected trigger sets in heavily on your old habits.

Read the book and give it a shot. The cost is small and the reward is large. New self-confidence in your appearance and self-esteem boosted by knowing you conquered one of the most deeply seated bad habits a person can have. I don’t need to tell you that nail biting does not qualify as an addiction, but it sure as heck feels like it to those who want to quit and have tried repeatedly only to be pulled back in.

Change your life, change your habit, change your appearance, start learning to stop nail biting today. Join my free online support group, Nail Biters Anonymous. It’s a place where you can vent, get support or do some bragging. Because nail biting is mostly a private and shameful habit, it is a place where we don’t expect to know your name. It was in the spirit of the anonymity of the group that I use a pen name for the book.
